342 up and 342 down

As a reward (hmm, or maybe a punishment) for losing my first 15 pounds, I attempted one of the main set of "stairs", as they are referred to in my city.  These are supposed to be one of the easiest at 248 stairs!  At this stage, as my lungs are making me feel like I smoked a pack of cigarettes, and my legs are still shaking, not sure I'll be moving on from these any time soon.

My goal before getting there was to make it up and back down 2 times.  But by 1 1/2 I had to stop.   Still pretty good I'd say for a pure beginner of anything to do with exercise.

It was a gorgeous day, and there was some great views from the top and midway up as well.

This is the view from the bottom - you can see about 1/4 way up.

Stumbleupon - ABC

STUMBLEUPON.  Our Friend. Our Enemy.
I hope this will help to make life easier for those that want to use stumble for some of their favourite sites!

In General - the Steps/terminology involved in Stumbling (A, B, C)
A.  Discover (webpage that has never been stumbled before)
B.  Review (write comments and use tags to describe a page that has already been discovered)
C.  Like (an item that has already been discovered)

***Note - the new toolbar should be used by everyone know.  If you haven't upgraded yet, do that first!  Go to Stumbleupon.com there should be a link there to get it.

This is the new tool bar:

Sometimes you need to add icons to this toolbar (ie the "price tag" if you want to add tags in this way.  (this method is not described here, but it can be used as an alternative)
To add items go to tools at the far right, a drop down menu will appear when you click.  Go to tool bar options.  This menu will appear.

Under controls you can add or remove whatever you would like (ie the TAG).  You can also go to the search and tagging tab to add an explore bar to use for tagging.  Play around with it, until you get it how you want!
So you come to a site you like, but hasn't been stumbled yet.  This is what you do.  Simple as ABC

A.    Discover NEW page
1. Click Thumbs up on tool bar
2. Choose YES - safe for work
3. Pick topic (from drop down list - ***DO NOT pick from the topics provided in the list in blue it will not categorize the page properly!****
You could put in tags and comments at this time, but in order to make sure it "sticks" we won't do this yet.  See Part B
4. Click "Add Review"

B.  Review item – ( item that has already been discovered)
1. Click "Info" on tool bar (*note if it hasn’t been discovered yet this will got to page not available screen – so start with A above)
2. Write in comment
3. Add 4 tags under “your tags” (the first tag will be the topic/category you previously picked...you can add four more)
4. Save

Double check that you did things correctly***This is important to ensure you are doing things correctly***
1. go to webpage
2. Click Info on tool bar
3. You should be able to read your comment under the name of the page...see below

C. Like item - Item has already been discovered, and you don't want to make a comment.
1. Click Info on tool bar
2. Click "Stumble this button (Blcak button at top left)
3. Click "Thumbs up" icon

I hope this helps!  Try it out before List day, on a random item and see if this way works for you!

One more tip...its important not to just do one site all the time.  That is considered SPAMMY.  So do different sites occassionaly, or you will get this page :(  And you will have to come back later to finish.

Outdoor skating

I have some new listings...check them out at my store...  Lexiekinprints.etsy.com

And I just had to share.  Today was our first time taking our little girl skating.  She is 2 1/2.  So much fun! Even if it was just for a little bit.
Its an outdoor rink, over looking a small body of water.  This was our first time here.  We will be back for sure.
We used bob skates ( 2 blades that strap onto her boot) for her to start.  It was good, because she had more fun being able to stand on her own.  But we think we are going to get regular skates for her, for next time and she how she makes out.  Many more falls I am sure.  All a part of the learning curve.

Store Supplies

One direction I'd like to expand on in my store is supplies for other etsy and other online stores.

As of right now I have just a few listings, but if I get some positive feedback I will continue on this track.

I can add logos or your own pictures to various items.  Just send me a message if your interested.

Here are some custom listings.... they can be found here

This is currently listed for a 2x2 sticker, but the size can easily be changed for your needs

This is a sample of a gift certificate, but I can work with you to do something custom for your store

Goals for 2012

For my business, these are my goals for 2012

1.  Manage my "etsy and promotional time" better
  • My plan - use some new charts I made up to help keep organized with PFteam events
  • Take scheduled days off from PFTeam threads, and longer breaks if I just need some more me/home time.
2.  Make facebook page
  • Check - done.  Come on over...I need fans!  facebook

3. Back up all of my computer files.
  • This should be number 1, but I know me, it won't happen right away.

4. Have 80 items in my shop by the end of the year
  • Make various types, try to plan ahead for upcoming holidays.

5.   Have 40 Sales
  • Last year I had 12 sales, so this is asking a lot I know, so I won't be overly dissapointed if I don't reach that number

6.  Complete my website
  • I haven't done anything with it really.
  • I forgot about it, and it automatically renewed by mistake...ughh...so since it cost nearly $100, I better make the most out of it.
  • If after this year it is not useful, I will likely cancel it.  Its here... http://www.lexiekinprints.com/ and needs lots of work, I shouldn't even post the link, but maybe it will get me working on it so I'm not embarassed by it anymore.

Happy New year!
